The Internet Protocol
address or IP Address is a numerical identifier for a computer
(server) attached to the internet. An IP Address is four
numbers separated with periods and is typically a 12 digit
number.

Once your domain starts
resolving there is no difference of an dedicated IP address
and shared IP address. IP address can be used only if you want
your visitors to access your site via IP.
